Guidelines for Speakers
Arrive early
Kindly arrive at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the session.
Presentation length & format
Oral presenters are allocated 20 minutes for their presentation and 5 minutes for questions and answers. If a presentation runs over 20 minutes, the moderator will shorten the Q&A that follows.
Content slides
Up to 10 slides is optimal, allowing about 2 minutes per slide. You may use more, but please finish within your 20 minutes. Slides should give an overview of the research with conclusions and future research direction.
Slide format
Only MS PowerPoint or Apple Keynote are supported. HD projectors are used for all sessions, so please prepare widescreen slides (16:9, 1920 × 1080).
Slide submission
Bring your slides on a portable drive to the conference hall at least 2 hours before your presentation so they can be uploaded to the presentation computer.
Deliver a talk people remember
- Rehearse in advance so you cover the material effectively within the time allotted.
- Make sure your talk reflects what was promised in your abstract and introduction.
- Know your audience — they may come from different agencies, industries, professions and regions.
- Keep slides readable: avoid rows of small text. 24pt and above is usually safe.
- Leave time at the end for questions, and finish without exceeding your slot.
- Use the same title on your slides as in your submitted abstract; add a subtitle for extra detail.
