Dr. C. Anitha is alumni of Maharani’s Science College for Women, Mysore. She received her Master's from the University of Mysore and was awarded a Ph.D. degree in 2003 from the University of Mysore with the title “Impact of ICDS on the beneficiaries from Mysore District – a Study”. She started her career as a Temporary lecturer in the Department of Home Science, Maharani’s Science College for Women, Mysore. Further, joined PG Department of Food and Nutrition, University of Mysore, Mysore, and later Yuvaraja's College, University of Mysore, Mysore. Her field of specialization is Community Nutrition. She has chaired and co-chaired many academic sessions in national and international conferences, served as a rapporteur in conferences, and organised conferences and seminars. Dr. C. Anitha has put in more than 27years of teaching and research experience in the field of Food Science and Nutrition. In addition to this, she has been appointed as Principal Investigator, E-Content Development, Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru. Presently, she is working as the Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of Studies and Research in Food Science and Nutrition, Karnataka State Open University, Mukthagangotri, Mysore.
A Senior Professor (Academic Level-15) of Dairy Science & Food Technology, Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai, had been the Founding Head of the Department of Dairy Science & Food Technology, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. He has the credit to start B.Tech. and M.Tech. programs in two disciplines i.e., Dairy Technology and Food Technology, in the newly created department. He also headed the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying for two tenures at Banaras Hindu University (BHU). He was also the Vice-President of the University Sports Board (USB), BHU, for two tenures. After doing his B.Sc. (Agriculture) degree from Gorakhpur University (1984), Prof. Rai did his M.Sc. (Dairy Science) from BHU (1986) as a Gold Medallist. He completed his Ph.D. in Dairy Technology from BHU (1992). He has 32 years of rich experience in teaching and research. With 193 research/technical papers published in National and International journals, 4 Edited Books, 5 co-authored books/manuals, 34 chapters in edited books, 14 technical articles in Hindi, Prof. Rai has so far supervised 26 Ph.D. and 52 M.Sc. students. Prof. Rai is a Fellow of the Indian Dairy Association, 2023; National Academy of Dairy Science (India), 2019; U.P. Academy of Agricultural Sciences (UPAAS), 2019; Bioved Research Society (FBRS), 2014; Society of Applied Biotechnology (FSAB), 2012; and Society of Environmental Sciences, India (FSESc), 2009. Prof. Rai is the recipient of the SAB Award of Excellence in Food Biotechnology, 2012. He had also been awarded the ICAR Best Teacher Award, 2012-13, and is the Editor of four refereed Journals. He conferred the Bihar Kesari Sammaan 2025 by the Bihar Intellectual Forum, Patna. As a Commonwealth Academic Fellow at the University of Reading, UK (2009-2010), Prof. Rai has worked under the world’s prestigious Commonwealth Academic Fellowship program of the Commonwealth commission of the UK. In the last 25 years, Prof Rai visited 20 countries of five continents on official invitation. He visited Cornell University and Tuskegee University of the United States as a Visiting Professor under AIP programme of USAID in 2011 to work jointly for developing novel approaches for instruction in emerging areas of Animal and Dairy Sciences. The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (India) deputed him for the Training on Leadership for Academicians Programme (LEAP) at Ohio State University (USA) in 2019.
Prof. (Dr.) Manjula Kola is a distinguished academic and researcher at Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, with extensive contributions in the field of Food Technology and Home Science. She has held several key administrative positions within the university, including Executive Council Member (EC), Chairperson of the Board of Studies (BOS) in the Department of Food Technology & Home Science, Course Coordinator for the M.S. Food Technology program, Coordinator for MLTC in the Department of Home Science, and NAAC Committee Member of the same department. Her academic and research excellence is reflected in an impressive portfolio of 71 research publications, 4 authored books, 17 book chapters, 7 patents, and 6 completed research projects. In addition, she has organized 19 seminars, conferences, and workshops, completed 20 training and refresher courses, and has been invited as a resource person in 49 academic events. She has also presented 51 research papers in various national and international conferences and workshops. Dr. Premila L. Bordoloi is an accomplished academician and researcher in the field of food and nutrition, currently serving as faculty at the Department of Food and Nutrition, College of Community Science, Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat. With over one decade of professional experience, she has made significant contributions in the areas of plant-based nutrition research, functional food development, and nutrition-sensitive community interventions in Northeast India. Her research focuses on the development of plant-based and ethnobotanical value-added products, promoting dietary diversity, nutrient bioavailability, and sustainable food systems. She has developed several Ready-To-Eat (RTE) and Ready-To-Cook (RTC) formulations utilizing locally available crops, addressing nutritional deficiencies while supporting local livelihoods. Dr. Bordoloi has successfully led multiple externally funded research and extension projects as principal investigator (PI) and co-principal investigator (CO-PI) under agencies such as ICSSR, DBT, BRAC, Government of Assam, and APART. Her ongoing ICSSR- and DBT-supported research projects emphasize value addition to local foods, nutrient profiling, and community-based nutrition interventions in different parts of Assam. An active academic leader, Dr. Bordoloi has served as organizing secretary, joint secretary, and member of numerous national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops, showcasing her strong organizational and leadership abilities. As in charge of the internship and in-plant training program for final-year food and nutrition students, she ensures experiential learning in clinical dietetics, food service management, and product development. She has guided several postgraduate theses on plant-based functional foods, fish-based nutrient-rich formulations, and ethnobotanical food innovations, aligning with national goals of Poshan Abhiyan and Viksit Bharat @2047. Her academic contributions include several research papers, book chapters, and conference proceedings on sustainable diets and nutrition-sensitive agriculture. She integrates traditional food wisdom with scientific innovation, emphasizing the potential of indigenous plants in improving nutritional and livelihood security. In her achievements, Dr. Premila L. Bordoloi was selected under the national agricultural higher education project (NAHEP-ICAR) for faculty upgradation training at the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, where she enhanced her expertise in global nutrition research methodologies, food innovation, and academic collaboration. She has also been invited as a guest speaker and resource person at several national and international conferences, sharing her insights on plant-based nutrition, functional foods, millet innovations, and community-focused dietary interventions. Her participation in diverse academic platforms underscores her role as a thought leader and mentor in the field of nutrition and food technology. Her work aligns with national and global goals, including Poshan Abhiyan, Viksit Bharat @2047, and the Sustainable Development Goals, exemplifying her vision for a healthier and nutritionally secure India.
Dr. Sheba Sangeetha Jeyaraj holds a Doctorate in Foods and Nutrition. She completed her undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studies at the prestigious Women’s Christian College (WCC), Chennai, affiliated to the University of Madras. Excelling throughout her academic journey, she graduated with distinction, was honored as the Best Outgoing Student, and received numerous awards for her outstanding scholastic achievements. A proud alumna of Women’s Christian College, Chennai, Dr. Sheba currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Home Science and as Dean of Academic Affairs at her alma mater. With over 22 years of teaching and research experience, she has made significant contributions to academia. She has mentored several postgraduate and M.Phil. research scholars and is currently supervising Doctoral research scholars. Dr. Sheba has actively participated in National and International seminars, workshops, and conferences, where she has presented research papers and received accolades for best presentations. She has chaired and co-chaired scientific sessions, engaged in panel discussions, and has been invited as a resource person and chief guest at various academic and cultural forums. In addition, she has served as a subject expert in academic bodies and government programs. A prolific academic, Dr. Sheba has authored book chapters and published over 35 research papers in reputed National and International peer-reviewed journals. She has contributed widely to print, broadcast, and digital media on topics related to nutrition and health and has served as an external examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate programs across several universities. Her academic engagements extend beyond India—she has traveled internationally to present research findings, participate in global academic programs, and contribute as a resource person in international collaborations. She is also a life member of several professional organizations. Dr. Sheba’s core areas of expertise include Clinical Nutrition, Medical Nutrition Therapy, and Public Health Nutrition.
